“Wow! This is a much bigger crowd than I’d expected,” Dew whispered to Eddie, her eyes wide.

“What can I say?” Eddie blinked, “You’re already a rock star here.”

“We got it,” Electra, the much-pierced drummer, said confidently.

They tuned up to raucous cheers from the crowd that was fully rooting for them. They launched into their set, starting with a peppy dance song followed by a current chartbuster.

Shrinking Violets played with the cheer and gusto of a group enjoying themselves thoroughly. They played with the abandon that only people who were doing it for the sheer joy of making music could. None of them saw this as a career so they could throw themselves into their passion with untainted and unmarred completeness. They band was sheer pleasure for the girls. A space to let loose and have fun. Their pure enjoyment in the music was infectious and before the first stanza of the first song, people were already dancing.
